Bill Cooke

My name is Bill Cooke, and I am a Web Designer with over 17 years of experience. I have developed and managed websites ranging from small home-business based proejcts, to massive corporate websites and intranet sites, utilizing my years of experience to provide a unique, modern and user-friendly approach to everythign I have worked on.

I code in scripts and languages including HTML5, Javascript and PHP, and work with libraries and resources including Bootstrap, jQuery, jQuery Mobile and more. I also have experience with mySQL databases and and doing graphic design for both digital and traditional print.

I have experience in working with e-commerce and CMS platforms including WordPress, OsCommerce, openCart, Magento, Jooma, Drupal and others.

The tools of my trade include applications such as The Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, inDesign, Dreamweaver, Acrobat, Fireworks). These (among other applications) allow to be apply my creative vision and expertise in developing modern, responsive and mobile friendly web sites and other media projects.

A fun fact about me: I have also been a DJ for over 30 years.

This project was for a Toronto based food stylist and photographer.

The site was designed to be responsive so it can be viewed on various devices, orientations and resolutions.

The site was built using the bootstrap framework, with custom jQuery code for additional functionality.

One of the key features of this site is the carousel image display, which via the custom designed code determines the best way to display the images based on the viewport size of the device the site is being designed on.

This was a concept site design for a cafe' / coffee shop type establishment.

The site is designed with bootstrap and custom code to be responsive and adapts to the device it is being viewed on.

The site was designed as a single-page brochure style site, and also features HTML5 features such as the background video used for the intro section at the top of the page.

I have been a DJ for over 30 years, and I run a small DJ business on weekends providing my dj services for weddings and private events.

I designed my site to have a mobile-friendly and responsive design, utlizing Bootstrap and jQuery for the design, and also custom-coding a PHP based back-end for management of the content and media used on the web site.

The site features include a lightbox style photo gallery and embedded videos.
