Bill Cooke is a Freelance Web Designer and Graphic Designer based out of Toronto, Canada.
About Me
Hello, and welcome to my site, BillCookeDesigns.com.
My name is Bill Cooke (obviously), and I am a freelance web and media developer from Toronto, Canada.
I have a strong love for the internet, and for all the creative power it has. Art and design is as much a part of the net as burgers are to McDonalds. They go hand in hand. Marketing and commercial use of the internet blends with the power of the individual and community, all of which play a crucial role in where the net has been, where it is now, and where it will take us in the future.
I first got into web design because of my roots in Music. I worked as a Toronto based D.J and producer in the 90’s and early 2000’s and due to the need to promote myself i took up learning first to do graphic design work for creating fliers and advertisements for myself, to eventually creating web sites for myself and my various “incarnations” as both a D.J and Producer.
Once I started on this path, I truly fell in love with web design, graphic design and the concept of blending syle with function to create unique, memorable and one of a kind web sites. For some of you who remember me from my “303 Dreams” days, you will (hopefully) fondly remember several of my “303 Dreams” website incarnations i had over the years. P.s for the rest of you, “303 Dreams” was one of the names I used when i was writing and producing electronic music in the 90’s (ill put up some articles about this on the site eventually)
It was this unusual habit i had of combining artistic creativity with function and form in web design that really attracted me to web design. Mind you now-a-days most of my work conforms more to business and corporate style web sites, e-commerce applications etc, but every once in a while I still get an opportunity to work on something different and unique, and it’s always a pleasure when that time comes.
I intend to use this site as a resource for other web developers, graphic designers, internet marketers to read my insights into the world of web development and design, to share their own, and hopefully make a few new friends in the process. I will eventually also have a section on the website in the future for my music as well. In the mean time, grab a coffee or a can of your caffeine and sugar life water (aka Pop), have a read and enjoy.
P.S If you would like more information on my freelance web design and development services, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Warm regards,
